What is the Compass Initiative?
The Compass Initiative was developed by the Columbia County School District to provide students and parents with the information (Success Portfolio) needed to select and implement a plan to reach their stated goal. It is a guide to assist you with selecting the path to success that is best for your future career plans.
How do I access the Compass Initiative?
The Compass Initiative is a webpage that is accessible to all students and families in the Columbia County School District.

What is a Success Portfolio?
The Compass Initiative includes Success Portfolios that are designed to guide students and families with high school course and Career and Technical Education program selections. The purpose of the Success Portfolio is to assist students and parents with successfully graduating from high school, as well as equip students with the information needed to transition to college, military, and/or a career. Each portfolio is broken down by grade level. Students and families may select the appropriate grade level to receive recommendations on course offerings.
What is the University Track?
This track offers the success roadmaps to assist students and families with navigating the courses needed to fulfill the university systems requirements. Test scores, scholarship opportunities, and university admissions requirements can all be located here.
What is the College Track?
This track offers the success roadmaps to assist you with navigating the courses needed to fulfill the state college requirements. Test scores, scholarship opportunities, and college admissions requirements can all be located here.
What is the CTE Track?
This track offers the success roadmaps to assist you with navigating the courses needed to fulfill the CTE requirements to receive an industry certification upon graduating from high school. Test scores, scholarship opportunities, and college admissions requirements can all be located here.

This track offers the success roadmaps to assist you with navigating the courses needed to fulfill the state graduation requirements.
What is a Roadmap?
The Roadmaps are grade-level specific navigation tools that direct students down the path of success based on each semester of the year. Students are able to see important landmark information that will keep them on track to successfully graduate from high school and transition to their post-secondary endeavors.
What is an Academic Course Map?
The Academic Course Map is a listing of the recommended course selections based on your grade level and post-secondary plans. Each map is tailored to provide guidance to students and families as to what courses students should select to be successful in high school and beyond.
What can be found on the Resources page?
The Resource page contains information for scholarships, dual enrollment requirements, testing dates, military, and student-athlete information, how to request high school transcripts, college planning guides, and more.
